How it works
- Type everyone's name, one per line. Add couples or housemates who shouldn't draw each other.
- Tap "Draw names". Nobody draws themselves.
- Send each person their own link (WhatsApp, text or email). They open it and tap to see who they buy for.
- You, the organiser, don't see who got whom, so you can play too. Just don't open other people's links.
Secret Santa ideas and rules
- Set a budget and stick to it: $20 to $30 is common at work, less in big groups. Need ideas? See our gift ideas by budget.
- Play while you swap: our Christmas trivia has three rounds of questions.
- Pick a theme if gifts feel hard: something red, something under $10, a book you love, a local treat.
- Add a wishlist: ask everyone to post three ideas in the group chat.
- Remote team? Send the links in a private message and ship gifts straight to each person.
Secret Santa: questions
How does an online Secret Santa draw work?
You enter the names, the generator draws who gives to whom, and each person gets a private link. Opening it shows only their own match.
Can the organiser see the results?
Not unless they open someone else's link. Each link holds only one person's match, so the organiser can join the draw too.
Can I stop couples from drawing each other?
Yes. List each pair on its own line, like "Anna - Ben", and the draw keeps them apart.
Do I need emails or an account?
No. Nothing is sent to us: the draw happens on your phone and you share the links however you like.
Just for fun. Our games, results and the lie detector are entertainment: they can't read minds or detect lies. Facts are checked against the sources shown; if you spot a mistake, tell us. Full disclaimer
